COMMUNITY RISING: District Orphans and Vulnerable Children Systems Strengthening (DOSS)

Ndola, Kitwe and Chingola in Copperbelt Province, Choma, Namwala and Mazabuka in Southern Province, Kafue, Luangwa and Chongwe in Lusaka Province, Mwense and Nchelenge in Luapula Province, and Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi and Muuski in Central Province.
Why: To improve orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) services by strengthening the existing district and community structures.

2013 – 2018
The DOSS project focused on strengthening and improving efficiency of OVC service delivery systems in selected districts at the community level, as well as strengthening the provision of care to OVC according to national OVC services through improved linkages and referrals. The project also collaborated with other OVC projects (ZR and DR) and strengthened the organizational capacity of Luapula Foundation; to ensure conformity with USAID financial, administrative and management procedures to successfully manage the project.
